RANDOM WORD / IMAGE ASSOCIATION (Michelle Tan 1112702287)

In-Class Exercise: To create something dangerous based on a kitten

Based on the kitten (problem), I managed to extract a few random words. They are:
1. timid
2.claws (which are sharp)
3. whiskers
4. tail
5. dirty (sometimes have 'kurap')

Amongst the five random words I decided to choose two random words which are claws and whiskers

The picture at the left shows a thing where its top part is a combination of large long sharp claws and whiskers around. The bottom part which symbolised the palm of a cat is surrounded by short whiskers.

So now when people try to touch it, they will automatically encounter reflex action because it hurts them. This will make human to not stay away from the object.

Reflection of class:
This last lecture have taught me a lot in learning on how to be creative. By using a random word and an image association, it has taught me on how to overcome problem and getting opportunities from what we usually see. An example given in the lecture was how to write using a plastic. A normal human which thinks logically will automatically say it is impossible to do so because a plastic does not leave any stains (ink). However, a creative person will definitely find alternative like burning the plastic to write, or just dipping it into some paint.

Through that example, I learnt how to see things in a brighter side. Moreover, I learnt to solve problem that seems to be impossible. Human like us are always lazy to think beyond the possibilities. We need motivation or catalyst to think out of the box. Apart for that, we must not only rely on our stereoscopic vision but also view and see from all sides. That's how we use opportunities to make possibilities.

Another example give by the lecturer was how does a large number of naked students get out from the class with only an empty metal dustbin. When a person thinks straight to the point, we tend to say that they will cover themselves with the dustbin. But that's impossible for hundreds of students to get out. So the smart creative way is by banging the dustbin to create sound so that someone would come and help.

Overall I've learnt that solving something with a different way is a simple is ABC. We must use the concept of applying other things but NEVER include the problem to the random words.
